Executive Vice President, Head of Fiera-Natixis Strategic Partnership
As Head of Fiera-Natixis Strategic Partnerships, Rick is directly accountable for leading and managing all strategic business and commercial initiatives with Natixis Investment Management (NIM) and its investment affiliates across each of the Natixis jurisdictions and markets including Canada, U.S., LATAM, EMEA, and Australasia. In addition to NIM’s respective leadership teams, Rick directly engages with NIM affiliate leadership team members pertaining to the identification of revenue generating opportunities, the co-ordination of operational logistics and the negotiation of key commercial terms and considerations. This includes the identification of business opportunities to leverage the respective Fiera and Natixis Sales networks through joint marketing, new product development initiatives, and strategic, commercial business transactions.
Previously Rick led the formation of Fiera’s Global Distribution strategy and structure including global growth initiatives, sales, and business development for Fiera’s U.S. and non North-American investment management business. In Jan 2017 Rick was appointed Chairman, Fiera Europe following Fiera’s acquisition of London based Charlemagne Capital – an Emerging and Frontier equity markets specialist. In addition Rick served as advisory member to Fiera’s Private Alternative Investments business which includes Infrastructure, Real Estate, Private Equity, Direct Lending, and Agriculture.
Since 2001, Rick successfully led three Canadian based U.S Investment business launches and more recently was responsible for the international expansion of Fiera Europe’s investment capabilities into the U.S. and the expansion of our continental European business. As Managing Director and Global Head of Sales he also led U.S. distribution including growth in global markets in Asia and EMEA. Over the course of his 30+ year business career, Rick has led a 3rd party multi-manager investment platform, provided fiduciary oversight to corporate pension plans and gained experience in corporate development, business operations, compliance, human resources, and institutional and private client management.
Rick is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (Bachelor of Arts) and an MBA graduate from McMaster University. He has also completed the Ivey School of Business Executive Development Program in Marketing and in 2005 was awarded the prestigious Chartered Director (C. Dir) designation through McMaster University’s Directors College. He has also served as a Lecturer at the Wilfrid Laurier University School of Business. In 2010, Rick completed the Global Studies in Investment Strategies and Portfolio Management course at the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton School.
